Il faut libérer Marwan Barghouti ! 

Face à la surenchère guerrière, face aux massacres, nous devons opposer une solution politique et diplomatique. Les Palestiniens et Palestiniens doivent pouvoir accéder à une représentation politique et démocratique. Non seulement le peuple est privé d’élection depuis trop longtemps, mais un grand nombre de représentants populaires palestiniens sont emprisonnés où font face à des répressions régulières. Marwan Barghouti est un symbole de ces milliers de prisonniers et prisonnières politiques. 

Depuis 2002, le dirigeant du Fatah Marwan Barghouti est emprisonné par l’armée israélienne. Condamné à 5 peines à perpétuités, soumis à des mauvais traitements quotidiens, des tortures récurrentes et privé de nombreuses fois de visites de ses proches, il incarne pour les Palestiniens et la communauté internationale la quasi seule possibilité d’union entre les différents partis et organisations d’opposition à la colonisation ; autrement dit, Marwan Barghouti est la figure d’espoir d’une réelle construction politique palestinienne et d’une issue de paix entre Israël et la Palestine. 

Depuis 10 ans maintenant, sa femme Fadwa Barghouti, elle aussi dirigeante du Fatah, mène une campagne internationale pour sa libération. Celle-ci bénéficie du soutien de nombreux gouvernements et personnalités. Si Marwan Barghouti incarne la perspective d’une paix juste et durable, c’est parce qu’il représente la résistance tout en étant convaincu qu’aucune action violente contre des civils israéliens ne peut être envisagée pour parvenir à la fin de l’occupation. C’est bien l’espoir de paix et la possibilité de l’union palestinienne que représente Marwan Barghouti, qui cause son enfermement. Sa libération est donc, plus que jamais, à exiger auprès des autorités israéliennes.

Le MJCF revendique la libération de Marwan Barghouti et de tous les prisonniers politiques palestiniens. Il faut que la France et la communauté internationale prennent une position forte et exigent cet acte auprès du gouvernement israélien. 

Le MJCF revendique l’arrêt des bombardements israéliens, la fin de la colonisation et de l’apartheid.

Le MJCF revendique la reconnaissance de l’Etat palestinien aux côtés de l’Etat israélien, sur les frontières de 1967, avec Jerusalem-Est comme capitale.

Ce sont ces conditions qui permettront d’instaurer une paix juste et durable entre la Palestine et Israël.

In the face of escalating war, in the face of massacres, we must stand for a political and diplomatic solution. Palestinians must have access to political and democratic representation. Not only have they been deprived of elections for too long, but many popular Palestinian representatives are in prison or face constant repression. Marwan Barghouti is a symbol of these thousands of political prisoners.

Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti has been imprisoned by the Israeli army since 2002. Sentenced to 5 life sentences, subjected to daily abuse and repeated torture, deprived of family visits on numerous occasions, he represents for the Palestinians and the international community almost the only possibility of unity between the various parties and organisations opposed to colonisation; in other words, Marwan Barghouti is the figure of hope for a real Palestinian political construction and a way out of peace between Israel and Palestine.

His wife, Fadwa Barghouti, also a Fatah leader, has been leading an international campaign for his release for 10 years. This campaign is supported by many governments and public figures. If Marwan Barghouti embodies the prospect of a just and lasting peace, it is because he represents the resistance, convinced that no violent action against Israeli civilians can be contemplated as a means of ending the occupation. Indeed, it is the hope for peace and the possibility of Palestinian unity that Marwan Barghouti represents that is the cause of his imprisonment.

The MJCF demands the release of Marwan Barghouti and all Palestinian political prisoners. France and the international community must take a strong stand and demand this from the Israeli government.

The MJCF demands an end to Israeli bombardment, colonisation and apartheid.

The MJCF demands the recognition of the Palestinian state alongside the Israeli state, on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital city.

These are the conditions that will make a just and lasting peace between Palestine and Israel possible.
